What
God's Word Says
Psalm
91:1-16
KJV
What
We Should Say
Speak
In Your Own Words
Like This :
1. He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
"I dwell in the
secret place of the most High and I abide under the shadow of the
Almighty.
2. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
"Lord, You are my God. You are my refuge and
my fortress. I trust in You completely.
3. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
"You deliver me from the
snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.
4. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
"Like an eagle, You cover me with Your
feathers and under Your wings I find protection. Your truth is my shield and
my buckler.
5. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
"I am not afraid of the
terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day;
6. Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
"Nor of the pestilence
that walks in darkness, nor the destruction that lays waste at
noonday.
7. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
"A thousand shall fall at
my side, ten thousand at my right hand, but it shall not come near
me.
8. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
"Only with my eyes shall I
look and see the reward of the wicked.
9. Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
"Because I have made You,
O Lord Most High, my refuge and my dwelling place...
10. There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
"No evil shall befall me
and no plague shall come near my dwelling.
11. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
"You have given Your angels
charge over me to keep me in all my ways.
12. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
"Their hands shall bear me
up so I don't even dash my foot against a stone.
13. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
"I shall tread upon the
lion and the snake. The young lion and the serpent I will trample under
my feet.
14. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
"Because I set my love
upon You, my Lord, You deliver me. You set me on high because I know
Your name.
15. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
"I call upon You and You
answer me. You are with me in times of trouble. You deliver me and honor
me.
16. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
"With long life You
satisfy me and You show me Your salvation.
"Amen."
