Our Father, which art in
heaven —
|
|
"Dear God,
Jesus said that You are His Father and our Father too. You watch
over us from your throne in heaven and You hear our prayers.
|
|
|
|
Hallowed be Thy name.
|
|
"Your name is
special and Holy. The Bible says that You gave Your son Jesus the name that is
above all names.
|
|
|
|
Thy kingdom come.
|
|
"You
are my King and I pray that Your kingdom will come to us here on earth.
|
|
|
|
Thy will be done —
|
|
"I
will do your will — everything You want me to do.
|
|
|
|
On Earth as it is in Heaven.
|
|
"I pray that
everything
I do will be done just as it is in heaven.
|
|
|
|
Give us this day our daily
bread —
|
|
"Every
day You give us everything we need; our food, our clothing, our shelter,
our money — everything!
|
|
|
|
And forgive us our debts as we
forgive our debtors.
|
|
"You
forgive the things I do wrong, just like I forgive other people who owe
me.
|
|
|
|
And lead us not into temptation

"Show
me the right way to go so I can stay out of trouble.

But deliver us from evil:

You for protecting me from the devil and keeping me away from danger.
